With the release of Picasa 3 and Gimp 2.6, i revised the button slightly. There were no changes required for Picasa 3 support, however a slight change was required for Gimp 2.6.
After trying to use a few different methods to get an accurate measure of the length of a snake, I found a piece of software called Snake Measurer (available at Serpentine Widgets) that allows you to measure them using an image after doing some simple calibration. While this works fine, I find it a lacking a few features and so (since I am a geek) I wrote my own, more feature complete version for fun
I have found that editing images in GIMP from within Picasa a little laborious, so I've written a simple button that will allow users to load the currently selected picasa images in gimp.
Introducing Frank the Rooster … the hens are very impressed and have been strutting around with their wings spread trying to get his attention. There are some more pics in the gallery here.
I've added some of the projects that I have been working on in my spare time to my page. There is information about a small widget for wordpress that allows users to add a CGIIRC "live chat" login to their page, and added some info about the FlyLife search page that I did last year.
